The downtown sports and entertainment complex in Sacramento is moving forward. The city staff will now begin to put together a team of consultants to guide the project, and that will cost the city a little more than $6 million in public funds. The funds will primarily come from parking revenue and money generated from the sale of the downtown Sheraton.

Councilmembers voted 7-2 in favor of spending the money at Tuesday night's meeting. This amounts to a down payment on the project, which is expected to eventually cost $448 million.
