NBA Commissioner David Stern is opening up about what happened behind the scenes during the tug-of-war between Sacramento and Seattle over the Kings franchise.

Speaking to News 10 during the NBA summer league action in Las Vegas, Stern says early on he thought the team was headed to Seattle until Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson stepped up.

"And I think the owners were more inclined to accept that because they had seen him deliver once before," he said.

Stern referring the efforts to keep the team from moving to Anaheim after the 2011 season.
