The California Department of Public Health has issued a health alert in connection with an outbreak of Hepatitis A believed to be associated with frozen berries.

Those berries are believed to be associated with Townsend Farms Organic Antioxidant Blend frozen berries purchased from Costco and possibly at other retail locations. Officials said two people including a child and one adult contracted Hepatitis. Costco removed the product from their shelves on May 30th, and was contacting consumers who have a history of buying the berries.

Sacramento County Health says people who have not eaten the berries may still have been exposed through sampling of shakes or smoothies at Costco's in Sacramento County. If you're not sure, you are asked to call Sacramento County Health to discuss what to do.
