The Smithsonian Institution is announcing the discovery of a new species of mammal.

Dr. Kris Helgen says it's the olinguito, a mammal native to the rain forests of Columbia and Ecuador. The olinguito lives in trees, eats mostly fruit and is the smallest member of the raccoon family.  It is described as looking like half cat half teddy bear. Scientists say there are four sub-species of the olinguito. The animal is not considered to be endangered.
